KIRS Registration

Thank you for your interest in the Kehillath Israel Religious School (KIRS) for the 2023-2024 school year. We are really excited to learn with and from you in the year ahead.
The first day of KIRS will be Thursday, September 14, 2023.

Shabbat: A hallmark of the KIRS program is the monthly KIRS Community Shabbat services that take place on Friday evenings and Saturday mornings. KIRS students are expected to join once a month either on Friday evening (5:30-7 or 6:00-7:30, depending on the time of year) or on Shabbat morning (10:30-12). More information on this program as well as dates will be coming over the summer.

NEW THIS YEAR: INNOVATIVE HYBRID MODEL
We are excited to launch a new hybrid model of Religious School this year, for our 2-5th grade students. Recognizing that family logistics and getting children from one place to the next can be challenging, we want to offer more flexibility in our program. Students who participate in this model will continue to be required to attend KIRS in person on Thursday afternoons and monthly on Shabbat but will have the option to attend the other day of Religious School on your own schedule, from your own home. Online classes will be in partnership with Online Jewish Learning, an organization run by Rabbi Dani Eskow. Please note that families who participate in this program will pay an additional tuition cost for this convenience.

NEW THIS YEAR: KIRS AFTER HOURS
This year, we will be offering a monthly evening program on Thursdays from 5-7:30 pm. (Dates to be announced.) Although this will be targeted towards 6-7 graders, it will be open to everyone in KIRS. During this time, we will bring in guest speakers on a wide range of Jewish topics, taking advantage of our diverse community. We will also serve pizza for dinner and participate in evening minyan.
